About Us - Creative Compass UK

We started Creative Compass UK after hearing the same thing from too many business owners; that managing a website, social media, content and design across multiple providers was time-consuming, confusing and expensive. We decided to build a better option - one place that can handle it all. With our combined skills in design, strategy, content and marketing, we offer creative support that's flexible, practical and, most importantly, human. Whether you need a single headshot or an all-in-one solution, we work based on your goals, not a fixed set of packages. No hidden charges, no jargon, and no pressure to commit to anything you don't need.

We know the services we offer aren't new - so what makes us different?

You shouldn't have to juggle five freelancers to get one project over the line. We keep things simple, personal, and built completely bespoke - no generic packages or off-the-shelf solutions. That means faster turnaround, better consistency, and a more transparent process.

Shona brings over a decade of experience in photography, alongside expertise in social media, content creation and marketing - plus a genuine love for making sense of the algorithms that power it all. Jamie brings expert design, branding, web development and creative problem-solving skills. Together, we offer a joined-up approach that helps businesses grow with confidence - no middlemen and no copy-paste templates. Every project is tailored to the unique needs of you and your business.

The bottom line? Whether it's building a brand from the ground up, helping a startup stretch a tight budget with a long-term plan, or taking headshots for a solo entrepreneur - our focus is always on the value we can provide.

My journey with design kicked off in school with my first dive into Adobe Creative Cloud. I quickly discovered a knack for bringing ideas to life, whether it was crafting imaginary album covers inspired by the likes of Storm Thorgerson & Peter Saville, or designing sleek websites that make brands pop.

After mastering tools like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and XD, not to mention platforms like Webflow and WordPress, I’ve honed my ability to blend visual flair with practical design solutions. Whether it’s a brand refresh, a logo design, or a full-scale web project, I'm all about creating visuals that catch the eye and capture the essence of a brand with a hard focus on accessibility and usability.

My work holds a passion that keeps me ticking. I thrive on staying ahead of the curve, spotting trends, and translating them into exciting visual stories. My approach is all about calm professionalism mixed with a dash of creativity, making sure I meet briefs with work that impresses.Outside the studio, I’m a big music fan, travelling all over for live gigs, and a bit of a geek when it comes to collecting video game consoles. I also have a passion for cars, and hope to one day own and refurbish my own original Mini!

Keen to chat about my services? Drop me a line — I love connecting with fellow creatives and clients alike!

I'm a Creative professional with expansive experience that ranges from 10 years in the photography industry to writing a book on the Marketing expectations of the next generation. I graduated from university in 2021 with an honours degree in Photography and Video and quickly found myself deep in the Marketing industry. Although this sounds like a major juxtaposition, I found that everything I learnt along the way of my photography journey gave me the tools I needed to thrive in Marketing with out-of-the-box creativity that set me aside from others. The wide range of experience I have has given me a unique skill set which allows me to tackle challenges head-on with a mix of strategy and creative thinking with passion at the forefront of everything I do.

Outside of my professional life, I love nothing more than taking my 2 dogs (and my partner) to the pub to play pool, watch football and see the smiles my dogs put on everyone's faces. I am also an avid gig-goer travelling all over the UK and Europe to catch my favourite artists live and in person. In my younger years, I was lucky enough to combine my passion for photography with my passion for Football and Music, photographing Aberdeen Football Club's youth and women's team as well as an array of Bands over the years. My other hobbies include playing video games, watching movies (horror, in particular, fascinates me) and collecting vintage cameras, I'm a bit of a self-confessed nerd really.

If you want to know more about my professional experience, personal passions or even if you have a movie recommendation, please don't hesitate to get in touch and have a chat!

Casper was sold to me (Shona) as a multiple generation pedigree border collie, however, after the 9 years I have had him and being told by almost everyone who has ever met him, we are convinced he is actually more of an Australian Shepherd (not that we mind what he is, he's perfect!) He really is the best behaved dog I’ve ever met, he just wants to please. The walking definition of a teachers pet. He is 9 years old and just as much of a puppy as he was 8 years ago. He’s ball obsessed, currently a football as theres less running involved then with a tennis ball as despite what he thinks, he is getting into his older age! When I tell people he loves the pub even more than me they think im lying but he genuinely will try to drag me into any bar or pub we pass, he just loves the attention he gets, he even loves going to the vet! Appointed unofficial office manager, casper has been by our feet in the office at all times since we started and I can see no one else getting ‘employee of the month’ for the foreseeable future.

Koda is like a toddler in a dogs body. A 5 year old cocker spaniel Koda loves nothing more then being cuddled, being carried or just being on someones knee. Ive never met a dog who literally hugs, paw on each shoulder and head by one paw, a real human type hug. She even sits on my hip the same way you carry a toddler, its unreal. She's the real “like butter wouldn't melt” dog. She looks innocent as anything but is super cheeky and head strong, if she doesn't want to listen, she wont. Saying that though, she is still a brilliantly behaved dog. Adores children and people in general and has been a great support to my self (Shona) over the years especially during Covid when I was stuck 450 miles away from my family for 6 months when lockdown hit, I couldn't have done it without her hence the emotional support title, something every business should have.
